Legendary Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear embarks on an intergalactic adventure alongside a group of ambitious recruits and his robot companion Sox.

Lightyear settles for being a rather conventional origin story instead of reaching for the stars, but this gorgeously animated adventure ably accomplishes its mission of straightforward fun.

Even if it doesn't quite measure up to Toy Story, Lightyear offers an entertaining -- although somewhat complicated -- origin story for the beloved title character.

'Lightyear' is a visually stunning space adventure with strong themes of teamwork and emotional time travel. Chris Evans' performance as Buzz Lightyear is lauded, though Tim Allen's original voice is missed by some. Sox, the robotic cat, provides humor and charm. Despite pacing issues and convoluted plot elements, the film's heartfelt moments and inclusivity, are appreciated.
